Winstongolf Senior Open, Staysure Tour, Vorbeck, Germany.

Another week on the Staysure Tour is finished and for the second week in a row I will have to be satisfied with tied 23rd. Shooting level par for the tournament 74 - 70 - 72. I did my best again, even though I was challenged to the max, by a non working swing. I simply cannot get my upper and lower body to work together and it was one long struggle to find something that worked for the week. Thank god I have my good friend and caddy Gordon, he keeps me focused and makes a difference in every tournament.

First, a big congratulations to the winner of the Swiss Seniors Open, my friend and colleague Jean Francois Remesey. Well done my friend .

I had a great chance to shoot some good rounds on the weekend but couldn’t get a good score in the clubhouse. I shot 70 – 69 – 69 for a two under total and finished 23rd.

The Senior Italian Open, Staysure Tour.

The good weather flowed from Denmark to Italy this week and we had another week with hardly any wind and 30 degrees. Beautiful Italy and beautiful Villaverde Resort by Udine in Northern Italy.

The final result for me was good this week, shooting 69 – 72 – 68 to finish 12th at seven under par. I am very pleased with the result because I really struggled the first two rounds with my swing.

Shipco Masters 1 – 3 June, 2018.

The first edition of Shipco Masters at Simon’s Golf Club in Denmark was a great success. The players and the organization of the Staysure Tour were impressed with the set up and the running of the tournament. As a player, I can only congratulate Shipco for putting on the best new event I have played over the last 6 years on the Staysure Tour or European Senior Tour.

The first tournament of 2018 on the newly named Staysure Tour (former European Senior Tour) is completed at the beautiful Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club. It is a 9 hole golf course and very fun to play. This year we used two different tees on almost every hole and the last day the pins were moved between our played front and back nine.

Chubb Classic, Naples, Florida, Champions Tour.

It is a few days since I finished the Chubb Classic. I have had a few days to reflect on the tournament and the last two weeks on the Champions Tour. Chubb Classic finished with a tied 64th place, shooting 74 - 73 - 73. I didn't play as well as the week before, but I played good in Naples. I can only be satisfied with how I performed, playing 14 rounds of golf in 15 days. I felt worn during the final day, but all my fitness work got me through the tough schedule.

Event Qualifier Chubb Classic, Naples, Florida, Champions Tour.

I left Boca Raton Sunday afternoon and drove to the West Coast of Florida to do the next Event Qualifier for the Chubb Classic Monday morning. I got up very early and drove to the golf course. Got a cart and drove all 18 holes, because I hadn't had a chance to play the course. A good warm up followed and off I went to the first tee. Played ok on the front nine, and played great on the back nine. Shot 69, three under and that tied the 1st place with another two players. So I am IN again this week, playing the Chubb Classic on the Champions Tour.

Boca Raton Championship, Champions Tour, Florida.

The Boca Raton Championship is finished and a great champ was crowned with Mark Calcavecchia. It was a blustery Sunday and made scoring very difficult. It was tough to get the ball close to the hole in the windy conditions, so birdies didn't come easy. With a final round in 73 strokes and level par for tournament, finishing 53, it is not what I came for. I played as good from tee to green as I have played for several years. I was in great control of my long game and it was a lot of fun to play. I had SO many birdie chances the first two rounds, but the putter was not in great form.
