The Senior Scottish Open 2017.

I am currently crossing the Atlantic, on my way back to Florida and two weeks off from golf. I will focus on physical and mental fitness the coming two weeks, to be back on the European Senior Tour in England on August 25, for the Willow Senior Classic at Hanbury Manor.

Gordon, my caddie, has given me homework while I am in Florida, on how to become a great putter. I will follow his instructions and study Bob Rotellas wisdom, return to Europe and be AWESOME on the greens. Thanks Gordon, you are a big help on and off the course.

A very trying and confusing week is finished in beautiful Bad Ragaz, Switzerland. Trying because I tried a million things to make my swing work. Confusing because I was totally confused all week on my swing keys. I wasn't comfortable all week and the scores showed it. Shooting 68 - 74 - 70 to finish in 41st place was a bad week. Scores were low due to perfect greens and a well presented golf course. The weather was also very hot and the ball flew a long way all week.

I am back from my trip to Atlanta and the Event Qualifier for the PGA Champions Tour. I didn't get off to the good start we are all looking for in the qualifier. I was one over through 5 and two over through 8. I was playing ok, but didn't take the chances I had for birdies. I made birdies on 9 and 10 and was still in it. A couple of loose shots on the back nine resulted in 73 and I was out of the 4 spots for the PGA Tour Champions tournament in Sugar Loaf this weekend.

Finally a good night sleep :). The 9 hour time difference from Florida to Sharjah has been tough this week. I was really focused on a good final round today. All went good during warm up and I was two under after 8 with a couple of missed chances for birdies. A combination of small mistakes and really bad luck followed on the back nine. I hit a good drive on the dogleg 10th hole, just cutting across the corner of the dogleg. Sadly my ball caught the top of a palm tree and stayed in the tree. I had to go back and reload, that really hurt me.

It was a 5 o'clock alarm call this morning. I teed off at 7:50 and we hoped for a calm morning, but the wind came up pretty quick and that reflected higher scores. A lot of the pins were difficult to get to also and made club choice crucial. I played well all day, but didn't manage to hit my ironshots close. All my good ironshots either came up short or long, so I was always trying to make birdie from 20 to 30 feet. I didn't make any of the putts, made an 8 feet putt for a birdie and two putted for another birdie.

It was tough to start the season today. When I teed off on the first tee, I was already 8 shots behind the leader, Chris Williams, whom was at 8 under at that time. Things brighten up as the day went by and I opened the year with a 66, six under and one shot off the lead :).

I played very well all day. It is a continuation of how I have played in the US this spring. I have gotten the shaft much more out in front of me, and my bad shots are a lot better. I am of course thrilled about this improvement and will focus on this change going forward.
