Chubb Classic, Naples, Florida, Champions Tour.

It is a few days since I finished the Chubb Classic. I have had a few days to reflect on the tournament and the last two weeks on the Champions Tour. Chubb Classic finished with a tied 64th place, shooting 74 - 73 - 73. I didn't play as well as the week before, but I played good in Naples. I can only be satisfied with how I performed, playing 14 rounds of golf in 15 days. I felt worn during the final day, but all my fitness work got me through the tough schedule.

The positives are many, but primary, I have really freed up my swing and is getting a lot more distance on my driver. I was 20th on average length with the driver for the week and 4th in the longest drive. Good things to take further and I am looking forward to keep working on the things coach Nyholm and I have looked at since Christmas. My short game is progressing along with my bunker play.

The part I need to improve and focus on are on the greens. My putting has been off all 14 rounds I played the last two weeks. It becomes a mind game when I miss so many putts. It is a lot of searching to find something that works and gain confidence. It is really tough to accept the scores I have shot the last two weeks, when I have played SO well from tee to green. It calls for new input to the brain and I have now gotten hold of an armlock putter from BioMech. I have been practicing with it the last three days, and I am making small improvements on how to putt with it. I will keep working on this putter and it is my intention to put it in the bag for the first tournament on the Staysure Tour (European Senior Tour) in Sharjah beginning of March. I will play a one day tournament on Monday on the West Florida Golf Tour and this will be my first tournament round with it,

I must say the last month has been very exciting for me on the golf course. I have had a 5th and a 1st place on the West Florida Golf Tour. Finished 2nd and 1st in the two Champions Tour qualifiers. Played good golf in the two Champions Tour tournaments. Very satisfied with the improvements.

Also, thanks to Abacus Sportswear, Widex and Wilsonstaff. They have been behind me since I started my second golf career and all companies have renewed the contracts :) :). THANK YOU, it is very important to have the support from all of you.

I will be leaving for Sharjah on March 3, flying in to Dubai from Orlando. A 13 hour flight to Dubai and 16 hour flight back to Orlando. I am arriving on Sunday and have 3 days to get over a 9 hour time difference. I will be in great form and looking forward to the opening tournament on the Staysure Tour.

Sunshine and happy days,

Steen.
