European Senior Masters, England, Staysure Tour.

My 14th tournament on the Staysure Tour this year is finished with rounds of 70 – 75 – 73 for a total of 2 over par and a tied 26th place.

We played a very wet Forest of Arden golf course and conditions were pretty tough in the final round, with a lot of wind and overnight rain. It was a very up and down tournament this week. Was happy with the first round, then played awful in the second round. I lost my swing completely, only good putting and a lot of fighting got me home in 75 shots.

The final round turned out to be a huge disappointment, because I found the swing again and played very well, but the final 9 holes were one mistake followed by the next, mostly on the greens. Really disappointing, because I putted well the first 45 holes of the tournament, maybe some of the best I have putted all year.

Looking back on the positives, I am getting somewhere with my putting. Mentally and technically I am moving forward, which is a great sign. I still have some way to go before I put 3 good rounds together, but it is all moving in the right direction.

It is time to take a break before we move to the Indian Ocean Swing at the end of November and the first two weeks of December. I will leave the clubs in the closet for a few weeks, think about something else but golf. When we reach November, I will have a plan for getting myself in shape for the last tournaments this year.

Until then, ENJOY

STEEN.
