European Tour Properties Senior Classic, Linna, Finland. European Senior Tour.

So much fun to be playing on the European Senior Tour again. It has been a long wait, finally we are back to tournament golf. It hasn't been a great lead up for me, so I was very uncertain about my form. I was very happy to receive a wild card to the Ecco Tour last week in Langesø G K, it helped me get some tournament rounds in before this week.

I took almost a month off at the end of April, to see if my left thumb would recover fully. It hasn't, and it is something I have to watch this year. I overworked the thumb changing my shaft plane this spring. My left thumb is more underneath the shaft as I swing down and puts more pressure on it. Hopefully, I can get it better the next week and be fully fit for Switzerland on July 7.

I finished 20th in the inaugural European Tour Properties Senior Classic, and is actually pleased with my performance. I struggled with the swing all three days, but the final day was much better. Shooting 72 - 71 - 72 for 1 under par was very consistent. I had great chances in the final round to shoot a score in the 60's but 3 or 4 putts just lipped out. My putting is much better, I have been focusing on looking at the line and target for the putt and not so much how I swing the putterhead. I realized I have been watching the putterhead too much, trying to make it move on the right path. I tried to trust that I was moving the putterhead on the right path and just focus on the line. It helped a lot. I hit a lot of good putts and holed more than I have been. I made too many costly and unusual mistakes because the swing was off, and that is the reason my scoring wasn't better. Over all it is a good start to the summer and I am not far off from shooting low scores.

I have a week off before going to Switzerland on July 4 to play the next tournament. I am eager and can't wait to play again. First, I have to do some quality practice and get my swing right, so I can continue the good form I had this spring.

Summer greetings from Finland :),
