Farmfoods European Senior Masters.

We really battled with nature this week, trying to play golf as storm Brian passed through Great Britain. Thursdays Pro Am got rained out, and the course got soaked. It was a shame, because the greenkeepers had done a great job, getting the course in a really nice shape. The following three days, we battled through wind, rain and cold temperatures. Tough conditions and very difficult to score.

I only made 4 birdies in the 54 holes we played. It was extremely difficult to get the ball close to the hole and only 3 players finished under par for the tournament. I am not happy with finishing 26th, but I really didn’t play much better. I struggled with the swing, putting, short game and it was a mentally long week. With scores of 76 – 75 – 75, I at least showed a lot of consistency ☺. I am not taking much with me from this week, it was a matter of survival.

The positives this week, I moved up one spot on the order of merit, to 25th. We now have the MCB Tour Championship left in the beginning of December in Mauritius. I would like to move in to the top 18 on the order of merit, which will give me a start in next years first major the US PGA Championship. It will only happen if I play a really good Tour Championship. Preparations for this will commence when I have had a break from golf over the next weeks. I am on my way home to Florida, crossing the Atlantic for the 13th time this year. It will be great to get back and recover and get the batteries recharged.

So long from a somewhere over the Atlantic……..
