Injured during the practice round in the Senior British Open.

I am very doubtful to start in Thursdays British Senior Open at Royal Birkdale.

I arrived this morning in Manchester and was taken to Royal Birkdale by a courtesy car along with my son Nicolai. After a swift lunch, some warm up on the range and puttig green we went on to see the course I adore so much.

Hitting a 3 wood of the third tee I felt a sudden and sharp pain in my left rib cage.  I thought the pain would go away but it just seemed to get worse on the following holes. I left the course after 8 holes and went to the Physio unit. They diagnosed it to be a torned muscle and treated it with ice and a light massage. I am now strapped up and will await the next couple of days progress. Hopefully the pain will be gone by Thursday, obviously it is far for an ideal situation, and I can only wait.

I will see the physios again tomorrow, do some putting, at best a bit of chipping. Then I will go and see the back nine, hang around and see how the course is playing, wathcing the other pros play. I will be one happy camper if I can tee it up on Thursday, but I am far from sure this will happen.

I will update my situation again tomorrow night.
