Invite to KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship.

I am happy to announce I received an invitation to the first senior major, the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship played in Benton Harbor Michigan May 24 – 27. It was my goal this spring to play my way in to the Championship through the Champions Tour and I did enough to get the invite I needed. Absolutely delighted to have this tournament to look forward to.

It is a while since I wrote on my blog and I am sorry I did not update it after the Champions Tour qualifying in Mississippi in mid March. I didn’t get through the qualifying, but decided to spend a couple of days with my wife in New Orleans after the qualifying. We had a great time. Listened to some fabulous jazz music and hung out in Bourbon Street and just did what tourists do smiley.

I have had a break from golf since then, just playing some rounds of social golf and having a lot of guests come and see us in Florida. So much fun, and it feels like it is the first time since 2011 I have had a real break from golf. At times it has been difficult not to go to the range and hit balls, but I have stayed away. Instead, I competed in the 70,3 Florida Ironman, spent a lot of time getting in to shape again. I am picking up the clubs again on Monday March 30th and will be at full speed, preparing for the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship in Michigan.

It is an exciting season we are heading in to on the Staysure Tour. It looks like we will have around 19 or 20 tournaments, so big improvements for us and lots of good competitions coming up. Of course, I am very excited about playing in Denmark again. It will be so much fun to play at Simon’s Golf Club again. Last time I played there was back in 2003, when I retired from the European Tour later on that year. In my wildest dreams, I didn’t think I would be back to play a Staysure Tournament at Simon’s again, but here I am and ready to play.

I am very happy to let you know that I have been lucky to extend three endorsements also. Wilsonstaff, Widex and Abacus Sportswear have all extended our relationship, thank you all, it is very important to me to have great companies behind me :smiley.

I have a little challenge before the PGA Championship and that is finding somewhere to play a few tournament rounds. I will be searching and hopefully find some place to get a couple of rounds in before the end of May.

I hope you have a great and enjoyable golf season.

Smiles from Florida,

Steen.
