Life in Florida :).
I am back from my trip to Atlanta and the Event Qualifier for the PGA Champions Tour. I didn't get off to the good start we are all looking for in the qualifier. I was one over through 5 and two over through 8. I was playing ok, but didn't take the chances I had for birdies. I made birdies on 9 and 10 and was still in it. A couple of loose shots on the back nine resulted in 73 and I was out of the 4 spots for the PGA Tour Champions tournament in Sugar Loaf this weekend.
I prepared well for this tournament, playing well last week in a West Florida Golf Tour tournament in Sarasota, shooting 71-68 to finish 6th. Just couldn't bring the same form on to the golf course Monday. I have been training and practicing hard since January 15 to give myself the best chances of some good results this spring. The most important tournament this spring was the beginning of the European Senior Tour in Sharjah. Obviously, I am happy with the 8th place in that tournament and look forward to the next tournament in June on the European Senior Tour.
Now, I will take a little break from golf. Let my body recover again and get rid of a few small injury issues. Work on my strengthening and conditioning the next weeks, and then start practicing for the US Senior Open qualifying in St. Lucie, Florida in May, before returning to Europe for the European Senior Tour.
I wish y'all a great deal of success on the course this year, ENJOY :).
