WinstonGolf Senior Open 2013.

In the end I finished tied 5th, but I was extremely close to getting in to a play off for the title at Winston Golf.

I played really well in the last round. I 3 putted the 6th green for the only bogey of the day. I did not putt as well as you have to, if you are going to win tournaments. But at the end of the round I started to get the putts to drop. Unfortunately I started to hole putts a little too late. I am extremely satisfied with my game this week. I implemented new things in my swing, short game and putting. The changes worked well and all I have to do is stay patient and wait for things to go my way in the final holes.

I have moved my weight forward in my stance. I now have more weight on my left side standing over the ball, this gives me a feeling of rotating the club instead of sliding my body sideways. It gives a straighter ball flight and my misses are better. In my putting I also keep much more weight on my left side. It keeps my legs from moving and gives me a more consistent hit with the putter. I have to make sure my weight is towards my toes on the putter, this gets the putterhead travelling down the intended line.

I keep my 3rd place on the European Senior Tour order of merit before next weeks Russian Open. Next week is the biggest prize money in a regular European Senior Tour event this year. Naturally it is an important week. I am travelling to Russia with a clear picture of what I need to work on before Fridays first round. I also travel with a lot of confidence from this weeks tournament and hope this will give me the opportunity to play for the victory on Sunday.

Greetings,

Steen.
