My morning didn’t start great. I got the first back spasm getting up from the breakfast table and I thought it would be impossible to play. After putting heating lotion on my back and adding some pills, I managed to do a short warm up and get ready. I struggled to find my swing because I was protecting against spasms, it was a matter of getting to the finish line today.

Good to be back playing tournament golf after almost 3 weeks off. The Swiss Senior Open is a favorite amongst the players. Well organized and it is a beautiful place. The whole team behind the tournament is extremely friendly and make sure we are all feeling welcome. The course is a tree lined course, very tight at times but a fair test of golf.

The new "anti back pain" swing is really working. I played really good today and did everything right. Today could have been a very low round, lots of putts just slipped by the hole. The 2016 European Senior Tour has started in Wales on a sunny day with a good breeze. The Roman Road course at the Celtic Manor is a very tricky challenge. This year the greens are very firm and as always very undulated. It is extremely difficult to get the ball close to the holes on the approach shots. Once on the green, you really have to be below the hole, because you can get some treacherous putts.
