I drove up yesterday from Lakewood Ranch to Orlando and played a practice round. I teed off on the 10th hole today at 8:25 and had the difficult nine holes first. It was by no means a good start. Had 3 bogeys on my first 3 holes and it was a really nervous start. I was steep on the ball and really struggled with the swing. Stayed calm and battled on, searching for the lost swing. I never found the swing, it was all hands today. I couldn't go at any pins that were hidden away on the greens, so I had to keep aiming at the middle of the green and avoid mistakes.

It was good to be back on Italian soil for a golf event. We played in the northern part of Italy by Udine, a beautiful part of Italy. The course was very wet when we got there on Tuesday and more rain poured on the course Thursday. The pro am was canceled because of rain, so it was a wet course we played all week. Not an easy course and very tricky with dog legs and a lot of shaping the ball off the tee.

It was a very sloppy day on the course today. Felt like I made a lot of mistakes, unusual mistakes. Hit a 4 iron in to the water on the second hole, trying to reach the par 5 in two. Wasn't comfortable over the ball, but hit the shot anyway. Wasn't concentrating on the 9th on my second shot and pulled a 4 iron in to a steep hill for my lay up on the par 5. Silly mistakes, more mental than anything else. Shot 1 under on the front nine. I learned my lesson and stayed focused on the back nine.
