We knew already Friday the tournament would only be 36 holes, so today was the final round. I was hitting balls at 7:30, warming up for my tee time at 9:00 a:m. Suddenly I got a text message saying the overnight rain had flooded the course and a new draw had been put in to effect. My new tee times was 10:50 off the 10th tee. So I spent lots of time on the range getting ready for todays round.

Sitting at my friend Peters house in Montauroux and watching the rain come down over the French Riviera, while Peter is making us a gourmet vegetable/fruit juice to keep the mood high.

It started raining last night at 9:00 pm and it hasn't stopped yet. The first round of The French Riviera Masters has been cancelled and the tournament has now been cut to 36 holes. We will play the pro-am format tomorrow and then a 18 hole final day with only pros on Sunday.

I will spent some time in the fitness center this afternoon and get ready for tomorrows round.

I had high hopes for todays round, and my start was good. 1 under through 3 holes. The following four holes were a true nightmare of bad drives and putts. Lost ball on hole 4 and chip out on hole 7 from the trees. 3 putts on hole 4, 6 and 7. Suddenly I was 5 over for the day. I really struggled to find the fairway with my driver today. I only hit 3 fairways with the driver and was punished hard when missing the fairways. It was such a struggle.

I had a very trying day. Actually a very odd day. I drove the ball very well and I putted very well. The strength of my game, my iron play, was off all day. I hit my irons in all sorts of directions and couldn't find the right path for the club. It was by no means a steady round in par, I had a lot of saves for pars and had to fight all the way for the score. I am very pleased with the result today. I shot two under on the back nine, the difficult nine. I made some good putts on the back nine, the putting lesson I got from Paul Wesselingh last week really helped me today.

I am happy to see this tournament finish. It has been a very trying week at Archerfield Park. I have been beaten this week and has to regroup for next week. There is no need to think back on this week anymore, I have to look forward.

Mentally, I will have to be stronger at Woburn next week. I must be able to accept the bad times on course and get through them quickly. I will focus on keeping myself motivated to stay tough mentally. Bad shots, unlucky lies, missed putts and the likes happen in every round. I need to focus on all the good things and stay positive.

The day finished with a round in even par. Again, we had a lot of wind and it made scoring difficult. I played a lot better today and had some chances to shoot under par so it was a big improvement from yesterday.

I still need to find a better rhythm in my swing and make more putts. I failed to get up and down just off the green on a few occasions today. I have thrown a lot of shots away this week, because my sense of speed is not on target. I will have to practice more long putts the next week, so I can get back to one of my strength, putting from long range.
