Life in Florida :).

I am back from my trip to Atlanta and the Event Qualifier for the PGA Champions Tour. I didn't get off to the good start we are all looking for in the qualifier. I was one over through 5 and two over through 8. I was playing ok, but didn't take the chances I had for birdies. I made birdies on 9 and 10 and was still in it. A couple of loose shots on the back nine resulted in 73 and I was out of the 4 spots for the PGA Tour Champions tournament in Sugar Loaf this weekend.

Finally a good night sleep :). The 9 hour time difference from Florida to Sharjah has been tough this week. I was really focused on a good final round today. All went good during warm up and I was two under after 8 with a couple of missed chances for birdies. A combination of small mistakes and really bad luck followed on the back nine. I hit a good drive on the dogleg 10th hole, just cutting across the corner of the dogleg. Sadly my ball caught the top of a palm tree and stayed in the tree. I had to go back and reload, that really hurt me.

It was a 5 o'clock alarm call this morning. I teed off at 7:50 and we hoped for a calm morning, but the wind came up pretty quick and that reflected higher scores. A lot of the pins were difficult to get to also and made club choice crucial. I played well all day, but didn't manage to hit my ironshots close. All my good ironshots either came up short or long, so I was always trying to make birdie from 20 to 30 feet. I didn't make any of the putts, made an 8 feet putt for a birdie and two putted for another birdie.

We were 50 players today, playing for 4 spots for this weeks PGA Tour Champions tournament.

I was a bit rusty all day, but pretty happy with my performance. I shot 74, but it do not reflect my game today. I had lots of chances to move to 2 or 3 under after 14, but was level par. I hit a bad tee shot on 15 and made a double bogey to finish two over.

Finished the last two rounds with 74 and 68 for a total of 215, one under par for the tournament. This tournament looked a lot like the rest of the year, getting under par but not many under par for the tournament. I had a tough day yesterday, but had it one under par after 13 holes. Wasn't swinging the club good but just trying to grind out a round under par. Sadly, I made a double bogey on 15 and shot 74. I found something that worked for me the last 5 holes, opening up my shoulder a little bit and got better contact with the ball.

We got delayed this morning because of rain. First tee off was suppose to be at 8:30 but we didn't start till 12 o'clock. We got paired in 3 balls instead of the original 2 balls and off two tees. I was first off on the 10th tee. Didn't play good all day. I am still fighting the over the top swing and the ball going left.

It turned out to be a very tough day on the course. I was searching for a swing during warm up, but never found it. I knew it would be a difficult day on the course, and I really did have low expectations for the round. I have changed so many things in my swing the last couple of days, that I can't recognize it now. I am very confused of what to correct, so the ball is either going right or left. I shot 79 today and because I am so steep on the ball I keep getting these shooting pains in my ligaments on the right forefinger.

A very unlike round of golf today. I was swinging the club good on the range, with focus on rhythm, during my warm up. Then I almost showed up late on the first tee, because the watch on the putting green was 3 minutes slow. I had 5 seconds to go when I showed up and was first off, so I just got my driver quickly and had to hit. Was hitting it so and so the first few holes, but then started to hit it pretty good. My playing partner hit the pin on the third shot on the par five hole, 8th and the ball was bounced 10 yards away from the pin.
